Product Engineer – Full Stack & Agentic AI
New York | Hybrid – 3 days in-office | Up to $200,000 base + equity
We’re working with a fast-growing fintech company building AI-powered software to automate complex financial workflows. Following significant new funding, they’re expanding their engineering team and looking for a Product Engineer who enjoys taking ownership and getting useful features into the hands of users.
As the Product Engineer, you’ll work directly with business users and domain specialists to understand their day-to-day processes and turn manual work into practical software. This could involve automating invoicing and approvals, processing documents, or connecting the platform with existing business systems.
You’ll own features across React and TypeScript frontends and Node.js and Python services, building production AI features and agentic workflows along the way. The role combines hands-on development with user discovery and product planning, giving you a direct influence on what gets built and how it works.
Experience:
- 3+ years of commercial experience as a Software Engineer or Product Engineer.
- Experience at a major technology company or established startup known for strong engineering standards.
- Strong full-stack development experience, including ownership of user-facing applications.
- Experience shipping production features powered by LLMs or agentic workflows.
- Experience with React, TypeScript and backend development using Node.js or Python.
- Ability to work directly with non-technical users and translate business needs into practical software.
- Experience using AI coding tools (Claude Code), with sound judgment about code quality, security and maintainability.
- Computer Science degree from a strong university.
- Familiarity with GraphQL, PostgreSQL, event-driven systems or GCP would be beneficial.
You’ll join a small engineering team with experienced leadership and an established customer base. Previous financial services experience is nice to have, but you’ll need curiosity about the domain and an enthusiasm for building products people use.
They are offering a base salary of up to $200,000, plus equity, medical, dental and vision coverage, and unlimited PTO (paid time off). Applicants must have US work authorization (US Citizenship, Green Card), as they are unable to consider candidates requiring visa sponsorships or transfers.
