Senior Python Engineer with strong FastAPI experience wanted by an exciting AI technology company building next-generation simulation and digital twin software. This Senior Python Engineer role is with a scaleup offering a great opportunity to help shape the core platform powering enterprise-scale AI products.
This will see you designing and building production-grade Python services that sit at the heart of a modern platform architecture which sits on AWS. You'll own FastAPI services, design scalable Postgres data models and build the APIs that other engineering teams rely on across the business.
As a Senior Python Engineer, you'll also work closely with Product, DevOps and Software Engineering teams, helping to improve platform performance, reliability and scalability while mentoring other developers and contributing to technical direction.
Senior Python Engineer requirements:
- 6+ years' experience building production Python backend applications
- Strong experience developing REST APIs using FastAPI (or similar Python frameworks)
- Strong PostgreSQL experience including schema design, query optimisation and database migrations
- Strong software engineering fundamentals including CI/CD, containerisation, testing, debugging and profiling
- Experience deploying and supporting production backend services
- Excellent communication and stakeholder collaboration skills
Desirable experience includes AWS, Kubernetes, or TypeScript, together with experience working within fast-growing technology companies or startup environments. This role offers a competitive salary plus benefits, with one day per week working from the London office.
